CVS and blogging

I’ve thought about using CVS to manage a blog, and in fact have seen others do just this. Once I get past the “that’s cool” stage, I had to ask: why?

What’s the point in version controlling a blog post when you can edit, add comments or delete it from within the blogging environment? The only argument that makes sense is also, apparently, the only argument: everything is version controlled and can be rolled back if necessary. That just seems to defeat the purpose of the blog in my opinion, so I’ll stick with the database metaphor instead.
