Live 8
Add your name to the list. Upload your photo. Take action, do something. Today.

I’ve contributed to Live Aid, Farm Aid and got out for Hands Across America back in the 80s. I support this and encourage you to do so as well. It takes ten seconds to sign the list that will be presented to the G8 leaders during their meeting 6th – 9th July in Gleneagles.

You can also upload a photo that will be part of the “…huge G8 gallery along Princes street in the heart of Edinburgh”.

Update: 09-JUL-2005

Speaking of photos, check this out: Paul Hewson aka Bono and Bob Geldof sitting with President and Mrs. Bush in a private room at the Gleneagles Country Club.

This is activism at its best.

  1. I really admire and respect U2. They have achieved tremendous commercial success, and show no signs of reducing the quality, quantity or relevance of their music any time soon.

And the band members seem to be genuinely decent people. Enough has been written about Bono’s jonesing for a Nobel Peace Prize, but I think he’ll get one and it will be deserved.

Can you think of any other modern day mega-rock band that delivers the musical goods, stays out of the tabloid headlines | police blotters, *and* uses their celebrity for the benefit of the entire planet?

    That’s a short, short list.
