It is snowing again in Denver and 8f (-13c). This is playing out like a real winter, something we don’t see in a typical year. Not that we don’t ever see these types of winters. I would describe this the same way that significant floods are described - this is a 15 or 20 year winter; we can expect to see a winter like this every 15 - 20 years, which in my experience is how long ago I actually saw a winter like this in Denver.
